High Relief Sculpture

High relief sculpture also typically emerges out of a mostly flat background, with the difference that it thrusts more strongly space, creating deep undercuts and prominent shadows. As in the case of low relief, it can be readily displayed on a wall. Although it is designed to be seen principally from the front, a high relief sculpture may maintain a strong dimensional impact when seen more from the side. Since it requires more complex mold or set of molds, it is more expensive to make castings in high relief, but its more dynamic appearance is often preferred for settings where visual projection is important.
